What is an Absolute Pardon?
An Absolute Pardon is Connecticut's process to erase your entire Connecticut criminal record. If granted, the absolute pardon means that you can answer "no" to the question, Have you ever been convicted of a crime in the State of Connecticut. It is a process to obtain a Second Chance, leaving your criminal past behind you.

Am I eligible?
You are eligible to apply for an Absolute Pardon in Connecticut if you meet the following criteria:

Have no pending cases in Connecticut or any other jurisdiction

Have completed all aspects of your sentence including probation and parole

It has been at least 3 years since the date of your most recent misdemeanor conviction
-
It has been at least 5 years since the date of your most recent felony conviction

Is there a Fee?
There is a fee of 75 dollars to enroll with the CT State system to request your verified criminal background report. Additionally, there may be a Fee to obtain your fingerprints from the police department. The CTPardonsDay Coalition will assist participants with these fees.
